Dengue grips Islamabad as 81 more cases reported in 24 hours

Islamabad: The federal capital fears a dengue epidemic as 81 more cases of the mosquito carried viral disease have been reported in the last 24 hours, ARY News reported.  According to District Health officer Dr Zaeem Zia, two people lost their lives to the viral disease in the federal capital in the last 24 hours, while 81 new cases were reported. The DHO told that the 52 cases wee reported in rural areas while 29 were from urban areas. The two people reported dead in the last 2 hours belonged to Tarlai and Rawat. The patients were under treatment in Benazir Hospital Rawalpindi. He added that a total of 546 dengue cases have been reported in the federal capital in the current season. 356 cases have been reported in rural areas while 190 from urban areas, he added. Dr Zaeem told that 10 new dengue were admitted in the PIMS hospital Islamabad in the last 24 hours, 6 in Federal General Hospital, 18 in the Holy Family Hospital, 8 in BBH Rawalpindi, 3 in DHQ Rawalpindi, 1 in CDA Hospital while 1 dengue patient was reported from the Poly Clinic Islamabad.
